No other spelling practice can be more French than dictée (dictation)! And no French student living in France can ever escape it! Standard grading is based on a maximum score of 20 points and for any grammar, spelling or punctuation mistakes, points are lost. Once this traumatic experience has past, many adults see the challenge of dictée as a badge of honor and something to brag about!
